  1. In the late 1960's the Telugu Drama "KEERTISESHULU" of RaoGopalaRao fame comes to my mind when i go through the 17th memorial lecture organised by the trust of Dr.Garigipati Rudrayya Chowdwry. The crux of the drama was how the sycophants wanted greedily to encash the reputatation earned by a poet Vaninadham by forecasting that he would die shortly, propose to erect his statue. The organisers who conducted the event have not felt the need to explain why the veue of the need to explain why the event had to be shifted to Modern College premices. They owe an explanation. The speakers on the dais did not bother to question. Some on the dais hadn't dared to attend the "Best Teacher" award presented to Dr.GRC,when he was alive, for fear of getting the displeasure of GRC's bete noir who was exercising power those days. Then, why these panegyrics now? Self glorification !The true friends of Dr.GRC are his one time critics--I dare say.
